Righellis Orthodontics is proud to offer the most advanced orthodontic technology and materials to ensure treatment plans are precise and efficient.
Over the past ten years, high-tech advances have transformed orthodontic technology and treatments.
It’s now faster, more comfortable, discreet, and effective than ever before.
Even the aesthetic appeal of wearing braces has changed. For example, one in five of all orthodontic patients are adults. In addition, more and more teens are excited to get braces.
Long gone are the days of thick steel bands and heavy brackets. Today’s orthodontic options are sleeker and more elegant, providing patients with the smile they’ve always wanted.
Faster, More Comfortable Treatment
Today, stronger orthodontic cement means smaller, more tightly bonded brackets, fewer adjustment appointments, and ultimately a shorter treatment length. Instead of thick bands, we now offer thin wires that are discreet and much more effective at adjusting and aligning teeth.
Technology and consumer demand have led to a wide array of choices for orthodontic patients – stainless steel, ceramic, and plastics. Even traditional metal braces are sleeker, more advanced, and still a popular option. Clear braces can even be fabricated to match your tooth’s natural color and Invisalign offers a system that moves your teeth without any braces at all!
Hybrid Self-Ligating Braces
We use a unique combination of gentle active clips to guide the front teeth to their proper position and passive clips in the back teeth with the freedom to move teeth efficiently.
Tooth movement occurs as a result of friction and ligation. Self-ligating braces use a slide mechanism. This device opens, allowing your orthodontist to secure the wire inside a slot. As a result, the wire is free to glide around, reducing friction and pressure. Because of this, patients can enjoy a more comfortable experience.
One of the most exciting developments to happen is “invisible” braces. These braces are easily hidden through the use of tight-fitting clear molds that sit on the top and bottom rows of teeth. These molds apply force to the teeth through firm but gentle pressure to align the teeth and jaw bones. After approximately two weeks, the current mold is replaced with a new one that applies more pressure than the last. Each mold is worn at least 22 hours a day during those two weeks. However, they can be removed for eating, cleaning, and special occasions.
Clear brackets are an excellent choice for patients who wish to enhance their smile without the look of metal braces. These new brackets are designed to be discreet and impervious to staining and discoloration. They do, however, take longer to achieve results than regular braces.
